Educational Advising

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) in Maputo provides monthly information sessions and individual advising services for people who wish to study in the United States at the graduate and undergraduate level.

Graduate Study 

Applicants must:

• Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) from a recognized university.
• Demonstrate English proficiency.
• Demonstrate adequate finances to pay and/or be eligible to apply for a scholarship.
• Take required exams such as the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), GRE (Graduate Record Exam), or GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test).

Undergraduate Study

Colleges and Universities in the United States vary considerably in their admissions standards and requirements.  Applicants must have completed secondary school.  Being able to communicate in English is a basic requirement for successful study in the United States. The most common tests for English language ability are the TOEFL and the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The SAT (a multiple choice test of mathematics and English reading and writing) may also be necessary.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
