Saddam Hussein Verdict
November 6, 2006
On November 5, 2006, the Iraqi High Tribunal in Baghdad, Iraq found former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced him to death. We have no indication that the verdict will prompt unrest or anti-American demonstrations in Mozambique. However, we wish to remind American citizens to exercise caution and maintain a low profile if within the vicinity of any demonstration or unrest. American citizens are encouraged to maintain a high level of vigilance, be aware of local events, and take appropriate steps to bolster their personal security.
American citizens may contact the U.S. Embassy at 21 49 2797 for further information. For after hours emergencies, please call 21 49 0723.
