Peaceful Marches Scheduled
September 15, 2006
The FRELIMO political party has organized two fundraising marches that are scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2006. Both will start at 8:00am. One will commence at the Eduardo Mondlane statue located on Avenida Eduardo Mondlane, and the second will commence at Kim Il-Sung and Kwame Nkrumah both in Maputo.
The marches will end at the Estrelha Vermelha stadium in the Baixa, where there will be a concert.
Although these events are for political purposes and have no connection to the United States, U.S. citizens are advised to avoid these areas during the time of the march, as they would any large gathering of people.
