Information Resource Center ( IRC ): The IRC provides a comprehensive selection of books, videos, and periodicals related to the United States, by American authors. For more information, please refer to our Information Resource Center page.
Press Services: The Press section assists journalists with queries, provides U.S. government public diplomacy documents on current issues, arranges press conferences and interviews, issues press releases and provides media institutions and selected organizations with the daily Washington File, a daily series of articles on politics, economics, international affairs and other topics of interest. The Information Resource Center offers special hours for journalists and professionals with special projects, Monday, 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1100. The State Department's International Information Programs include five Electronic Journals, consisting of articles, interviews and reports covering themes of Economic Perspectives, U.S. Foreign Policy Agenda, U.S. Society & Values, Global Issues, and Issues of Democracy. A new journal appears every three weeks. Arabic, French, Portuguese, Spanish and/or Russian translations of many of these publications appear from one to several weeks after the English version.
